TROUPE
is our competition team that competes at the recreational level.
These dancers have been selected out of our rec program by our teachers after they have been evaluated all year based off of our GFDC Skill Sheet. Our skill sheets consist of the requirements that each dancer needs to be able to execute to be considered for our Competition teams, and helps determine the best placement. There are no auditions necessary, and placement is by invitation only after they have been evaluated.
Troupe is broken up into 3 separate teams:
MINI | PETITE | JUNIOR
Troupe trains 2-3 days a week and a few weekends throughout the season.
Troupe Dancers excel by taking classes in ballet barre, ballet progressions, jazz, tap and musical theater.
They will receive high level training from all teachers and be motivated to excel in all aspects of dance. With time and skill development, a troupe dancer may be asked to advance to our company program.
The Troupe Competition team requires significant dedication, time and financial commitments.
TROUPE DANCERS SHOULD EXHIBIT:
• Commitment and dedication to dance
• Good attendance
• Advancement in skills according to the GFDC skill sheet
• Performance quality
• Sportsmanship
• Positive attitude toward teachers and peers
• Motivation to excel
• Punctuality and preparedness for class
